The Olympics are just a few days away, but the snow is melting away already from the heat coming out of the latest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. This year’s edition feature U.S. Olympics team members Lindsey Vonn, Lacy Schnoor and Hannah Teter.
As always the question rise up…should they or shouldn’t they have done the photo shoot. After reviewing the photographic work of art, I give a resounding yes.
Judge for yourself at SI.com.
The Winter Olympics kick off February 12th in Vancouver. Lindsey Vonn is expected to be the darling of this year’s Olympics as she is heavily favored to win the Gold in the women’s skiing events. Vonn has dominated the World Cup circuit this winter and the only thing standing in her way is herself.
After a disasterous showing during the 2006 Olympics in Torino, Italy, Vonn is back to make amends. During a warm-up run in 2006, Vonn crashed in dramatic fashion, having to be airlifted to a hospital for overnight observation. Vonn walked away with a serious hip bruise that hindered her performance and caused her to finish eighth.
Snowboarder Hannah Teter returns for her second trip to the Olympics looking to repeat her gold medal showing in the half-pipe from the 2006 Olympics. A Vermont native, she was honored after her first Olympics gold medal by having Ben & Jerry’s name an ice cream flavor called “Maple Blondie” after her. The SI swimsuit feature provides her some nice publicity in a sport that will continue to gain traction and fan interest in the Olympics.
Lacy Schnoor will be making her Olympic debut for the USA team in the Freestyle Skiing Aerials competition. A former gymnast, Schoor shifted her focus from the pommel horse to the slopes and qualified for the event at the U.S. Olympic Trials. Schnoor has been consistently placing in the Top 10 of late in international competitions and stands an outside chance at capturing a medal.
While Clair Bidez’ run at making the Olympics was interrupted by an injury, the exposure in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition was a nice consolation. Thank you for your participation Clair.
Sorry guys, short track skater Allison Baver wasn’t featured, but you can get an eyeful in her tights when she takes the ice in just a few days.
