Excellent post. UFC is just one promotion, to say that only fighters in the UFC train hard and are talented is just ridiculous. Dana White is indeed a strange president for a company ( he owns only 10% of the UFC), it seems like he promotes more himself and forgetting that fighters are the stars, not “kids” that love to stand and bang. UFC is a huge buzz in N.America, but lets not forget that most europeans and asians when asked what is UFC will answer – what? But will discuss Fedor’s recent fights like no problem .

The UFC let BJ go up in weight and fight GSP – how is that protecting a fighter? Do you think any boxing organization would let a top-champion fight a guy 20+ pounds heavier? No way, the risks outweight the rewards by too much. BJ Penn might be lightyears ahead of the competition at lightweight in the UFC (and probably any other organization too) but I don’t think that has anything to do with the UFC not getting talented fighters.
